The problem

EZ Bombs had outgrown its Liquid theme. The store was slow, with an LCP of 3.5 seconds and mobile bounce above 65%, and the marketing team could not launch a promotion without a long release cycle.

What we found

Most paid traffic arrives on phones and food is an impulse buy, so every second of load time cost clicks the brand had already paid for. Recipes were the strongest reason to buy, but they lived far from the products.

The decisions

  • Go headless for speed. A Next.js storefront on the Shopify Storefront API, with server rendering, sized images and code splitting.

  • Design for the thumb. Product grids sit right after the hero, with a sticky bottom add-to-cart bar and stacked galleries for one-handed shopping.

  • Bring recipes next to the buy button. Collapsible recipe guides keep high-intent detail close without crowding the screen.

  • Hand marketing the controls. A CMS with reusable campaign sections lets the team launch offers and banners in minutes.

  • Connect social to the cart. A TikTok UGC carousel links discovery straight to purchase.

What we shipped

A headless rebuild with a Tailwind component library designed mobile first, managed through Pack Digital.

The result

LCP dropped under 2 seconds. Over six months mobile conversion rose 33%, driving $150K in incremental revenue and a 3.8x return on the build. Organic traffic grew 18%, and the team launched 10 campaigns in the first month.

Where it leaves them

A fast store the marketing team runs without engineering tickets, built to keep launching and testing.
